HEIGHTS IGNITE CLASSES VISIT KANGAROO ISLAND

On the 3rd April, The Heights Ignite classes of 806 & 807 headed for Kangaroo Island.

Meeting at the school at 5:45 am, and spending about three hours and 50 minutes travelling, we began to wonder, “Will this be worth it?” And the answer was yes!!!

We spent the next five days exploring the island and learning its history. The camp on a whole was amazing and full of surprises. Some of the highlights were the adventure to Seal Bay where we saw the Australian sea lion colony, our trip to Admiral’s Arch, Remarkable Rocks and the day that we went swimming at the beach.

The great thing about this camp was the fun activities like rolling down huge sand dunes and being able to sit two metres away from sea lions, yet we also learnt loads about the islands history, wildlife and monuments.

We stayed at Vivonne Bay Education Centre where we received amazing food made by Jules. Our bus driver Jeff, who was lots of fun, drove us around the Island, but he also taught us a lot about the Island. We have to give a lot of credit to Mr P, Mr Roberts, Mrs Nielsen & our parent helper Reg Williams, who made the camp possible.

We had a great time; it was definitely worth it and if anyone reading this gets the opportunity to go, take it!
