The whole child is catered for in the Ignite program.
Ignite teachers are trained to support the emotional and social
needs of gifted children in many practical ways.
Music, Drama, Sport and Fine Arts are crucial for the development
of gifted children and play an important part in the broad curriculum.
Students in the Ignite program are treated very much as individuals.
They can access a wide range of courses, negotiate personal timetables
and work with varying groups of students.
Each semester counselling is available to help student select appropriate
courses. Age is not the main consideration in course selection however,
demonstrated ability, inclination and career aspirations are. Ignite
students are given earlier career guidance than their age peers
and parents are involved at each stage of the counselling process.
