Successes in the Share Market Game
Congratulations Joshua Buckton

Joshua, a Year 11 student from The Heights has won a South Australian ASX Prize.
Joshua was one of 48 Heights School students who recently took part in the first 2006 ASX (Australian Stock Exchange) Schools Sharemarket Game. Hundreds of students took part from across the whole of South Australia.
Joshua won second prize in the SA division.
Each student or syndicate was given a hypothetical $50,000 to spend on the purchase of shares. The game began on March 8 and concluded on May 17, 2006.
Each syndicate was able to buy shares from a list of 100 shares that are regularly traded on the Australian Sharemarket (ASX). Each trade (buy or sale) was charged $30, so students had to make real decisions about the potential of individual shares.
Buying and selling was done over the Internet and could be done at school or home.
At the end of the game the syndicate with the most money (including the value of all shares) was declared the winner.
Joshua received his cash prize and a memorial medal at a school assembly on June 28, from Marie Lawson, a representative of the ASX.
